Upset in yachting
NZPA Cowes The Admiral’s Cup “rookies," Hong Kong, dealt a severe blow to the cup aspirations of many of the world’s leading yachting: nations yesterday when it streaked home in the crosschannel race to win outright.
With two of the five-race series completed, Hong Kong stands on 427 points, followed by the United States (384), with Britain in third place on 368. Australia is now in eighth place on 304, being down three after the first inshore race late last i week.
