BBB3 CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL RECLAMATION AREA (AVON LOOP) LAND LOAN 1977 — $60,000 NOTICE is hereby given that at an Ordinary Meeting of the Christchurch City Council held on Monday, the 20th day of June, 1977, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order at an Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on Monday, the 18th day of July, 1977, at 7.30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 194 Manchester Street:— “THAT IN PURSUANCE and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and all amendments thereto, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves to raise in New Zealand a loan to be known as the Reclamation Area (Avon Loop) Land Loan 1977—560,000, for the purpose of developing an area of land in Bangor Street as a reclamation area and reimbursing the General Bank Account amounts previously expended for this purpose, subject to the following determinations:—

(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be 40 years. (2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding 9.5 per cent per annum; the interest rate to be reduced to 3.5 per cent per annum when acceptable housing construction commences provided that the area has been formally declared a reclamation area. (3) Notwithstanding anything in Clause (2) hereof, the rate of Interest may be increased or deduced not less than three years after such part of the loan is borrowed and at intervals of not less than three years thereafter to a rate not exceeding the rate for the time being fixed by the Housing Corporation of New Zealand for new loans granted for similar purposes provided that in no case shall the rate of interest be increased to a rate in excess of the maximum rate for the time being determined by the Minister of Finance pursuant to section 9 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956. (4) The said sum or any part thereof, together with [ interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate I annual or half vearly Instalments of principal and interest extending over the final 38 years of the term of the loan: interest only to be paid for the first 2 years of the term of the loan as determined in Clause (1) hereof. (5) The payment of all such instalments shall be made in New Zealand and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money (6) Such further conditions that may be stipulated by the Mortgage Loans Committee of the Housing Cornoration of New Zealand.”

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 195fi, IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED that a poll of ratepayers is required to be taken if not less than fifteen per cent (15 per cent) of the ratepayers of the City of Christchurch whose names are inscribed on the Ratepayers’ Roll of the District so demand in writing under their hands, delivered or sent by post to the Christ--1 church City Council and received at the offices of the Christchurch City Council, 194 Manchester Street, Christchurch 1 (P.O.
