' Queen of the Furrow’
Miss Sandy Webley, aged 18, who works in the A.N.Z. Bank in Masterton, won the “Queen of the Furrow” contest held in conjunction with the New Zealand ploughing championships, which were completed near Masterton at the week-end. Her prizes were worth more than $3OO.
The Wanganui-born girl recently moved to Masterton because her boy friend lives there. Before that she lived i in Wellington for 12 years. The 16 competitors in the contest were judged for personality, speech, dress and [general appearance. f
