AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY, AKAROA THE Akaroa County Council is proposing to establish additional housing for the elderly (Pensioners’ Flats) in Akaroa if there is sufficient need. To determine this need applications are being sought from single persons or couples who meet the following criteria. 1. Are 60 years of age or in receipt of special age or Invalid’s benefit. 2. Have assets of less than $5OOO (excluding motor car, furniture and personal effects). 3. Have a genuine housing need.
