Coaching week-end for colts
The New Zealand under 21 hockey team chosen after the national colts tournament in Timaru last month will play Combined Services and Wellington during a coaching week-end at the end of Julv. The New Zealand Hockey Association’s management committee decided last evening that the team would be an under 21 rather than under 23 side. Some committee members felt that the week-end should be for an under 23 side, but the decision in favour of the younger team came after a vote.
New Zealand selectors for the Hatch Cup tournament in Christchurch from August 29 to September 2 were named at the meeting. They are Jack Tynan (convener), Selwyn Maister, and Ken McEwen
