Art theft reward
PA Auckland | An insurance company has offered a reward for the recovery of the paintings and I prints stolen in the big'Mount I Eden art burglary during the Queen’s Birthday week-end. The reward was offered by the South British Insurance i Company, Detective Inspector W. H. Shanks said vesterjday. I Mr Shanks said that the company had offered to pay 10 per cent of the value of ithe property recovered, up to a maximum of $lO,OOO. Paintings and prints worth about $148,000 were stolen when thieves broke into the ihome of an art dealer, Dr Franco Olivetti.
