Another U.S. race for Balmerino
NZPA Washington. The New Zealand thorough-; bred, Balmerlno, will have an-J other race in the United States after all. His Cambridge owner Ralph Stuart told N'ZPA last week! that the horse would be flown | to Europe without running In: America again. This was after the horse, one I of the best bred in New Zealand for years, ran seventh in the > Hollywood Invitational Turfi' Handicap on May 30. But Mr Stuart told NZPAI' from the West Coast on Wednes-i day that the horse will have one more start at Hollywood Park!before being flown to England, probably on June 25. Bal merino is entered for the 1 '>250,000 Hollywood Gold Cup! (one mile and a quarter) and a >30,000 Invitation race mine fur-1 longs) on the same day, June 18 I The cup, the richest throughbred race in the United States, < I is run on dirt. The invitation, event is on grass. A decision on which race! Bal merino will contest hns not 1 ben made yet but Mr Stuart said he favours the shorter
