Strong table tennis team picked
On current form the strongo Canterbury men’s table tenteam has been selected to pta’ Australia next Friday night. The team is Wayne Adams’r Maurice Burrowes, Yee Choy Boi and Harry Redmond, first second, third and fifth-ranked !:i Canterbury respectively. The omission of the fourth ranked Les Stewart does not come as a shock because he Is having a poor patch of form at the moment. Both Adamson and Burrowet have previously played against international teams but for Yee and Redmond it will be the biggest test of their careers to data. The Australians will be repre sented by Bob Tuckett and Andrew’ Savige. Tuckett, from Sydney, is the current singles, champion of New South Wales and a member of Australian teams since 1973. Sayige i« 21, two years younger than Tuckett, and has a formidable record against other top Australians.
