Waimairi rate increase
Waimairi County ratepayers will pay an average rate increase of 17.2 per cent this year. This was decided last evening at a special meeting of the Waimairi County Council, which approved the estimates for 1977-78. . General expenditure in the coming year is expected to be $2,440,230. Last year, it was
$ 1,992,211. A breakdown of this expenditure, with last year’s estimates followed by expenditure in brackets is: Administration; $922,739 ($744,970, $736,042). General; $538,047 ($402,304, $380,765). Main roads and bridges; $316,596 ($351,597, $298,973). Special accounts; $595,096 ($477,471, $463,813).
