Toshack back in team?
NZPA London John Toshack, Liverpool’s Welsh international striker, who has missed 17 games since he was injured against the French side St Etienne two months ago, could return for Liverpool’s European Cup final against Borussia Moenchengladbach, in Rome tomorrow morning (N.Z. time). Toshack has still not entirely recovered from his achilles tendon trouble, but Liverpool’s manager, Bob Paisley, included him in the 17-strong squad he named to travel to Rome.
The Liverpool squad will be the same 14 that went to the F.A. Cup final at Wembley, with the addition of Toshack, Alan Waddle and the reserve goal-keeper, Peter McDonell. Meanwhile, in Munich, the West German soccer champion Borussia Moenchengladbach yesterday declared itself perfectly prepared for the big match against Liverpool.
