Forms of application for registration as an employer of waterside workers have been sent to those organisations which the Waterfront Industry' Commission considers may wish to register as employers of waterside workers. Any person or organisation who considers that he may require to register as an employer under this Act and has not received an application form should obtain one from the nearest Branch Office of the Waterfront Industry Commission or from the Head Office of the Commission at P.O. JUNE 10, 1977 AT TOE W.E.A. CENTRE, 59 GLOUCESTER STREET, CHRISTCHURCH, COMMENCING AT 7.30 p.m. THE BUSINESS OF THE MEETING WILL BE: . (a) To Consider and vote on the proposed amendments to the Constitution.

(b) To consider the position of membership in the Association and steps for an improvement. (c) To consider the relationships of W.E.A. Clubs to the parent organisation. (d) To consider the role of Affiliates and the function of the relationship. The proposed constitutional changes are as follows: SECTION 6, CLAUSE B "any may be nominated in writing with the consent of the nominee seven days before the date of the Annual General Meeting: in addition nominations may be made from the floor at the meeting of persons present or if not present having given their consent to be nominated.” The word ‘may’ is substituted for the word ‘shall’ in line 4; further words are added after the tvords ‘Annual General Meeting’ in line 6. If this proposed amendment should fail and the original stand, then Section 12A headed Annual General Meeting. Page 7 should be amended thus: The notice shall contain the constitutional provision for the nomination of officers, and in addition the notice with conditions should be posted to all members not later than fifteen days before the date fixed for the meeting. COUNCIL SECTION 7, a.l. should be deleted and the following substituted. “Any group participating in an organised part of the W.E.A. Programme may select one of their number to be for a period of twelve months from the commencement of the programme, a representative of the group in the Council, and if for any reason such person is unable to attend a particular meeting the group may appoint a substitute for that meeting.
