‘Save Our Homes'

Sir, — That Margaret French (“The Press,” May 21) found the "Save Our Homes” convention a stimulating experience is good — she obviously knew what the weekend was to be about. Mrs Swallow (“The Press,” May 19) did not and felt the advertising for it to be misleading — a point the organisers should be prepared to look at. If, as Margaret French says, education has failed to answer many of today’s problems one would wonder why. We feel too much emphasis has been placed on one type of education. Learning from one another to live more fully is open to risk and often means we are challenged to change and that is difficult. The United Women’s Convention will be for us an answer to prayer, a week-end where we will be challenged to see that many of the problems others are experiencing are often because of our lack of trust in the Lord. Isolating ourselves may be comfortable; is it what He did?—Yours, etc., HELEN CAMPBELL, YET SCHELLEKENS. May 22, 1977.
