No leads to Hornby payroll robber

Christchurch detectives had no further leads yesterday in their hunt for the armed man who robbed Crown Crystal Glass, Ltd, Hornby, of a $4400 payroll last week. The cash box which contained the money had been found, but had yielded no significant clues, said the officer in charge of the inquiry (Detective Inspector N. J. Stokes). The car thought to have been used in the getaway had not been recovered by last evening. The car, a cream 1968 Austin Mini, registration number DI 1819, had been stolen from Amyes Road, Hornby, before the robbery late on Wednesday night. The robber used a sawnoff shotgun to hold up a paymaster, a factory worker, and a security guard.
