PA Wellington The appeal of the Matang) owner-trainers, L. H. and R. A. Robinson, against the penalty imposed on them for breaches of the Owner-trainer Rules will be held in Wellington on June 21. The appeal will be heard by three judges appointed by the president of the New Zealand Racing Conference, Mr A. M. Hughes. If precedent is followed a barrister or solicitor will be tn the chair but it is not customary for the appeal judges to be named before the hearing opens. The Robinson brothers were disqualified for a year and costs of $lOOO each were awarded against them by a sub-committee of the conference executive sitting in Hamilton on May 9. The charges alleged that the brothers had insufficient interests as owner-trainers of several horses in which they had partners, including the Melbourne Cup winner, Van der Hum, and that they wilfully misinformed the conference as to the distribution of stake-earnings. Four partners in various horses were fined $3OO each but none of them has I appealed.
