A Christchurch employ-• ment agency has decided to share the secret of success-j fut job application with . those who need it most ■— the unemployed. The advice will be given free, said Mr R. F. Barlow,' general manager of tire agency, Key Personnel, Ltd. “In today s conditions ! where competition for workis keen and employers are being selective, it is those ; who present themselves properly and conduct successful interviews who stand a better chance of being chosen , for a vacancy,” said Mr Bar- ; low. They have little idea \ of how to make the initial; i contact, how to present; ; themselves to prospective | ’ employers, or how to pre-; pare themselves for the! interview.” He said that candidates,; after being “knocked back” i several times tended to losej confidence in themselves. The hour-long sessions will start in the agency’s office in Cathedral Square on May 25 at 5 p.m. Similar informal sessions will be ihejji in Dunedin.
