SUNDEU DESTROYED
PA Auckland The Southland owned gelding, Sundeu, broke his offside shoulder when he fell 800 m from home in the Waikato Steeplechase at Te Rapa on Saturday and was destroyed . He had put in several bad jumps earlier tn the race and was well back at the time. His rider, K. P. Trillo, bruised an a °Sundeu was owned by Mr W. E. Hazlett, of Invercargill, and trained by J. E. and J. W. Winder at Te Rapa. A seven-vear-old by Lomond from Margaret’s Pride, he won 'eight races last season and four 'this term. * He joined the Winder stable only recentlv and ran second in ♦he Vercoe Steeplechase on the first day of the Waikato meeting.
