‘Save Our Homes’

Sir, —I, too, was disappointed with the “Save Our Homes” conference. I am an ordinary Christian New Zealander with a deep concern for the state of New Zealand families and children. I had hoped that I would attend a conference that would discuss the problems and offer some concrete solutions. Instead, I was “conned” into attending a series of lectures that bore a close resemblance to an American revivalist meeting. —Yours, etc., (Mrs) B. W. DAVIES. May 19, 1977.

Sir, —I would like to express mv sincere thanks to the “Save Our Homes” organisers. I attended the two most popular seminars, “The role of a wife,” and “Communication,” largely as applied to marriage. Both were excellent. As the divorce rate in New Zealand is now one in three and climbing, I think it is time we tried the really Christian way. This is what the American lecturers talked to us about. (America has come to our aid before, 1 believe.) All the instructions for marriage as God intended it are in the Bible so why are ours crumbling? There will be other seminars following on from this and marriage enrichment courses for husbands and wives. These can only do good--—Yours, etc.. MRS P. COOK. May 20, 1977.
