Car injuries
I An 84-year-old woman j was admitted to Christ- | church Hospital after she | was struck by a car in High 'Street, Rangiora, yesterday morning. Mrs Gertrude Randle, of Flat 2, 58 Ashley Street, Rangiora, suffered leg and arm injuries. I She was in a satisfactorycondition last evening. The driver of the car, a -woman, was treated for shock. Earlier yesterday morning an Ohoka journalist was admitted to the intensive 'care ward of Christchurch Hospital after his car and a truck collided at the interi section of Tram Road and 'Jacksons Road, near; 1 Karapoi. He is Mr Kevin Bell, aged i 34, the racing editor of the “Christchurch Star.” Mr Bell received moderately serious head and chest injuries, j The accident occurred at about 7.45 a.m. Mr Bell was later transferred to Princess Margaret ‘Hospital. He was in a comfortable condition late last evening.
