Shaw may tour S.I.
PA Sydney The Australian rugby captain, Geoff Shaw, has made himself available for Queensland’s three-match South Island tour in May.
Shaw, an inside centre, recently moved to Queensland from Wollongong, New South Wales, and had announced he would not be available for the tour because of family commitments. I He announced in Brisbane on Tuesday that the com- | mitments had been overcome.
Shaw, who will lead a near test-team stength Australian Barbarians side against the New Zealand Barbarians in Sydney on Sunday, is expected to be an automatic selection for the Queensland side, which will be selected after trials on April 16. Queensland. Australia’s top rugby state last year, will play Otago, Mid-Canter-bury and Canterbury in the tour from May 5 to 15.
