Chemical plant to supply tanners

'expertise and has been responsible for commissioning the plant, and Neill Cropper (N.Z.) Ltd, which is responsible for marketing. The technical director for British Chrome (Mr D. A. Swales) came from England to attend the opening. His company will supply the major raw material, sodium dichromate. Mr P. C. 1. Crookes, chairman of Chrome and Chemicals, says the plant has a production capacity of more than 4000 tonnes a year. The cost of the venture is more than $BOO,OOO. The tanning industry makes a significant contribution to New Zealand’s export earnings.
