Moves to get cheaper power for the South Island should not he allowed to slide, the president of the Canterbury Progress League (Mr D. S. McKenzie) said. He was referring to a recent deputation from the [South Island to the Ministet' for Energy Resources (Mr Holland) proposing that electricity in the South Island be 25 per cent cheaper than in the North Island. “I am concerned that some impetus is maintained on this," he said. 'I know it sounds cynical but it is election year for local bodies. This issue is much too important to forget."
