Maiden visit to Lyttelton
The first of the Union Steam. Ship Company's 7000 tonne Tor|, class roll-on ships is due to.j make her maiden visit to Lyttel-y ton on March 21. Named the Union Lyttelton the,, ship is on her delivery voyage from Europe and appropriately) enough, Lyttelton will be the) ' first New Zealand port she will visit. She replaces the 4700 tonne Union Sydney' which was chartered from J. Lauritzen of' Denmark in 1974 at the height of i the trans-Tasman trade boom for service on the South Island-.
