Girls lived off crime
PA Auckland Four girls, one aged 16 and three aged 15, who appeared before the Children and Young Persons Court yesterday on burglary charges, were said by the police to have been living in an Onehunga flat off the proceeds of their crimes. The three 15-year-olds each admitted a charge of burglary of a house in Parnell on January 9. The police said that an additional 12 charges were pending. Property found at the girls’ flat was valued at $2500. They were remanded on bail to January 24 for sentence.
The 16-year-old girl entered no plea to a charge of burglary of a flat at Onehunga on January 5, and was remanded on bail to January 24.
