i PA Wellington The United States Coast. Guard rescued some of I the stranded people in I Stokes Valley yesterday. The Sikorsky HHS2 jet ; turbine helicopter on the U.S.S. Burton Island, an icebreaker, made two trips at the request of the Wellington police and picked up five people. The ship’s public information officer said that the helicopter had been abie to land on both trips and did not have to use its specialised rescue gear. The Burton Island arrived in Wellington on Sunday night for rest and , recreation. <
