Girl robbed bank
PA Auckland A 16-year-old girl was found guilty yesterday of robbing the Auckland Savings Bank at Grey Lynn of $3236 on August 27. Formerly a school pupil from near Christchurch she denied the charge of aggravated robbery. The jury considered its verdict for less than half an hour after a trial in the Supreme Court at Auckland.
The girl, whose name was suppressed, was remanded in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare by Mr Justice Henry. The jury r heard that the girl had gone into the bank in the company of a man who was armed with a knife.
