The former male nurse at ; Templeton Hospital who was found guilty last month of a j charge of assaulting one of ' the patients has been com- , mitted to the Supreme Court i for sentence by Mr W. F. i Brown, S.M. i Dean Andrew Francis i Hamilton, aged 21, appeared s in the Magistrate’s Court £ yesterday for sentence on one charge of assault, two i charges of theft, and a t charge of burglary. t He had previously pleaded 1 guilty to the'charge of bur-h
glary. The charge arose after he broke into a girl’s flat and stole a stereo worth $l2OO. Counsel (Mr K. N. Hampton) said that Hamilton pleaded guilty last Mondayin the Supreme Court to a charge of ill-treating a child at Templeton. He was to be sentenced on Friday at 9.30 a.m. The Magistrate, when declining jurisdiction, said that he felt it was fairer for the defendant to be sentenced before a judicial officer on all charges.
