Floral clock ready soon
The M.E.D. hope to have the floral clock in Victoria Street going again within a week.
Earlier this year, vandals broke a hand on the clock, and it had to be taken off and repaired. Then recently the centre of the clock was damaged.
The M.E.D. workshop had spent a lot of time mending the clock over the last three years. "But we don’t seem to have too much success. Every trick we try, vandals seem to counter,” said an M.E.D. spokesman. The floodlights around the clock will be turned on again as a deterrent measure.
