‘Truth’ sued for $5M
A writ claiming SSM damages has been issued by the Auckland merchant bank, Securitibank, Ltd, against the weekly newspaper, "Truth” for an alleged libel arising from an article published in the November 30 edition of the newspaper. A spokesman for the bank said yesterday that the managing director of Securitibank (Mr J. G. Russell) would issue a writ for $250,000 damages arising from the same article.
