Bicycle virtues
Sir, — The article on page 2 of “The Press” today contained several ideas which might be applied in Christchurch. I want to draw attention to the one in the caption of the illustration. The bicycle gives “more speed than walking and more manoeuvrability than driving” a motor-vehicle. This applies, of course, much more widely than just around the market On occasions when I really, need to use a car in tne city the frustrations are so great that it is a relief to get back to pedalling my bite, getting where I’m going and back before the man in a car has found a place to park. — Yours, etc.,
JIM McCAHON. November 26, 1976.
