B teams proposal criticised
I PA Gisborne The Poverty Bay Rugby ! Union is to protest to the | New Zealand Rugby Union I against any proposal that B ;teams be permitted to enter 1 the second division of the national rugby championship. The chairman of the man'agement committee of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union (Mr J. G. Baddeley) has said that any proposal to allow the B teams to take pan in the competition was a matter for concern to the smaller unions. “We have had experience iin playing B teams and they !are not draw-cards as far as attendance figures are concerned,” he said. “In addition, it is hard to 'get the players motivated for a game against B sides. “If the B sides are admitted to the competition it must add to touring expenses and these are high enough as
