The Automobile 'Association (Canterbury) will begin a new service todav when it takes a mobile office to the Bishopdale shopping mall. The visit will be the first of a series by the mobile office to all the major suburban shopping centres of Christchurch. The visits have the aim of taking the association’s services to its members.

The association’s general manager (Mr E. S. Palliser) said that the large caravan would have a selection of the handbooks, maps. and itineraries held at the main office. There would also be emergency motoring accessories. new member facilities, and subscription handling, he said. The caravan would have radio-telephone contact with the main office, Mr Palliser said.

Members will also be able to collect, their new handbooks, which the association is not mailing this year as an economy measure. It has been calculated that the move will save about $6OOO. The association has a main office in Hereford Street and a branch office in Sydenham.
