Sir, — The article on the cruise ship, Fedor Shalyapin, by John Leslie, was most interesting; One thing disturbs me, however. If the officers and crew are working long hours for wages that New Zealand seamen would reject, will the ship be declared “black” by Sir Thomas Skinner when it visits New Zealand ports? — Yours, etc., N.
