Service for U.N. Day

The United Nations Association of New Zealand held a multi-denominational service in the Christchurch Cathedral last evening to commemorate United Nations Day. The service was attended by officials, consuls, or representatives of Belgium, Britain, Chile. Japan, Malaysia, Sweden and the United States.

The worshippers were welcomed by the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. M. L. Underhill). Lessons were read by the Rev. Trevor Reu, a Lutheran minister; the Rev. R. Rogers, a Presbyterian minister; and by the Very Rev. Monsignor G. Daly.

The Samoan-Cook Islands choir, as well as the cathedral choir, sank hymns. The service was attended by about 100.
