Pregnant Cawley wins easily
NZPA Hilton Head Island Evonne Cawley, two hours after announcing she was pregnant, defeated Virginia Wade, 6-3, 6-4, in the women’s singles final of the $U5195,000 world invitation tennis classic. Arthur Ashe and Rod Laver defeated Bjorn Borg and Hie Nastase, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, in the men’s doubles final.
Borg meets Ashe in the men’s singles final.
