High school change

Sir, —As a member of the deputation to Wellington opposing Darfield High School’s translation it is easy for me to see that the Minister of Education is being grossly misinformed with information regarding Darfield Form I to VII translation. After reading an account of the public meeting held in Hororata which the senior member of the Education department attended it appalls me to think he can look and report on that meeting such misleading facts. — Yours, ptc G. K. INCH. Sheffield. October 13, 1976.

Sir,—-The problem of the establishment of a Form I to VII high school at Darfield revolves around the false information received from a series of letters to various people by Government and department officials. The whole question requires closer scrutiny. As the Chairman of the Education Board and chairman of the Darfield High School-board of governors is one person, in my view, he should state publicly that the situation for both- parties is untenable. Since first he represents the primary schools of the Malvern area he must call loudly and clearly for a new vote irrespective of the statement

by the Minister of Education. —Yours, etc., A. G. THORNE. October 14, 1976
