NZPA Melbourne Bold Mayo upset a series of confident betting plunges In yesterday's Chirnslde Stakes run over 1200 m at Caulfield on Tuesday. Starting at 16 to 1. Bold Mayo came with a well timed run lo snatch victory by a half head from the 6 to 4 favourite, Scania nda. King's Helmet, also confidently supported at 4 to 1, rattled home late for a close third. Bold Mayo (Talptin H—Mnvo Gold) failed in the rich 5100.000 A.J.C. Epsom Handicap nt Randwick n few weeks ago but proved his versatility In Tuesday's race. Seainanda led and fought back every Inch of Hie way and was gallant In defeat. Tov Show (II to 4) again let her supporters down and her Jockey. Roy Higgins, has sugges ted to the trainer, tommy Smith, that She wear blinkers in the future.
