No Way might find a way

Special correspondent Hastings No Way, Lavaro, Tarbela, and Zack ran solid trials lor Trentham when they galloped at Hastings yesterday morning. Andrew finished off his preparation for the Watkins Handicap in good style. No Way and Lavaro ran 1000 m on the plough in Imin 2sec. and the last 600 m in 37 Bsec. They were going well all the way. After a good fresh-up fifth, no way failed last time out, but the 2200 m tomorrow will suit her better. She looks very fit. Zack worked nicely. He ran a circuit of the plough in Imin 42.45ec, but put the pace on from the 1200 m in Imin 18.4 sec, and he picked up Tarbela at the 1000 m. They came from there in Imin 3.6 sec, the last 800 m took 51.1 sec, and the last 600 m was run in 38sec. Zack has failed in two runs this term, but looks set to go much better tomorrow. Tarbela should go another good race in the October No. 1. Andrew tends to work lazily when galloping solo, but he still managed a respectable Imin 21sec for his plough 1200 m, the last 600 m in 39.1 sec. Previously a candidate for the Melbourne spring races, Andrew now has the New Zealand Cup as his main goal this spring. He ran second in the Cup last year.
