Metal stocks remain high
NZPA-Reuter Sydney Peko-Wallsend, Ltd, sees evidence of some recovery in demand for metals and minerals, the directors say in the annual report. The effects on prices have been dampened by the existence of high levels of producer and other stocks. Depressed economic conditions in the major industrial economies of the world last year resulted in reduced demand for most metals and minerals, and adversely affected prices.
