Uranium deal in Iran
NZPA Teheran The Iranian Atomic! i Energy Organisation has : signed deals with French, (Australian and West German i firms for exploration of UraI nium. i The firms are C.J.J. of France, Astrix of Australia i and Prakala of West Germany. The announcement (did not say where the com|panies will explore for uranium. ,i No details of the deals were disclosed, but a statejment said that under the agreements Iran will become self-sufficient in nuclear fuel. West Germany has started building two nuclear powered plants for Iran in the • Persian Gulf port of Bushehr. The French are planning two plants at the Karpon river in south-west Iran, and Iran is negotiating with the United States for construe- • tion of 15 nuclear power plants.
