N.Z. rally drivers for Aust.
PA Auckland The top New Zealand rally driver, Mike Marshall, and his Ford Escort RS 1800 are on their way to Sydney aboard the Union Hobart, to contest this year’s Southern Cross Rally, which begins on October 8. Marshall is making his second attempt to win the rally. Last year he was second over all in the first division of the rally, but was forced to withdraw when he lost a wheel. He is one of five New Zealanders—the others are Blair Robson, Alan Brough, Jim Johnson and Colin Taylor — in a 90-strong, top-class field from 11 nations. Venue change.—The southern league soccer match between Woolston and Roslyn, set down for Garrick Park, has been transferred to Burwood Park. Cricket pitch preparation has started at Garrick Park.
