Rhodesia’s future
Sir, —Dr Kissinger’s foreign policy is becoming increasingly unacceptable. His latest initiative to “buy” Rhodesia’s whites is inhuman. What does he propose for the Asians, Coloureds, and proSmith blacks, who also have no future under a black regime ruled by the present terrorists? Rhodesia’s army is 65 .er cent black, its police force 75 per cent black. No doubt Dr Kissinger plans to leave these people to mass murder and execution as he did the South Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians. Black Rhodesians could mutiny and riot tomorrow and take over the country. They have the weapons and the numbers. They have not. They are fighting for the Smith Government side by side with whites, against the communist aggression that threatens them all. In 1940, lan Smith flew in the Battle of Britain. Altogether, 551 Rhodesian airmen died for a free world. Now we watch while Henry Kissinger turns their country into a probable black Marxist dictatorship.—Yours, etc.,
