Bay back at top of table
PA Rotorua Bay of Plenty, putting in a powerful finish, stormed to a 19-6 win over Otago in a national championship rugby match at Rotorua.
The win moved Bay of Plenty back to the top of the first division table with Manawatu.
Otago held the upper hand early in the game and led 3pnil at half-time. But midway through the second half Bay of Plenty took control in the difficult blustery conditions and Otago wilted under pressure.
Scorers.—Bay of Plenty: Kamizona, McNaughton, Brake, tries; Greg Rowlands, penalty and two conversions. For Otago, Wilson two penalties.
