A total of 270,700 shares was traded on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Including 13.000 in a special sale of Montana shares, 73,900 more shares than on Monday were traded. Industrial shares totalled 261,400 (183,500 on Monday) and 9300 mining shares were traded (13,300 on Monday), 121 issues changed hands. The five most active New Zealand issues were:— N.Z.
