Cypriots favour Kyprianou
NZPA-Reuter Nicosia First results from the Cyprus elections yesterday showed Greek-Cypnots favouring the centre-Right Democratic Front of the former Foreign Minister, Mr Spyros Kyprianou. and its alliance partner, the Communist Akel Party. At Paphos, the first district to declare results in the election for the 35 seats in the new House of Representatives. three Democratic Front candidate' were returned and one Communist. The alliance candidates, who supper’ President Makarios in his policy for regaining territory lost after the Turkish invasion, polled on average more than three times as many votes as the candidates of the Democratic Rally Party led b\ Mr Glafkos Clerides, who acted as Presidem during the Arch-; bishop’s exile in 1974.
