Sale talks continue
PA Wellington Negotiations on a major aircraft sale between Aerospace Industries, of Hamilton, and the Tanzanian Government were proceeding normally, the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Taiboys) said.
Mr Taiboys was replying to a Parliamentary question from Mr E. E. Isbey (Labour, Grey Lynn) who asked what action the Minister had taken, in view of a newspaper report that officials involved in the negotiations are concerned about the effect the Government’s sports policy might have on the deal.
Mr Taiboys said that he was not a party to the negotiations, and could not say when they would be concluded.
