Snowcraft lessons for party
More than 100 New Zealanders, who will work in the Antarctic next summer, will gather at Tekapo next week-end for a week of Antarctic orientation training. Included in the party are at least six women, the Scott Base leader-designate, elements of the Army and Air Force, and some university parties, who will be doing research on the continent during the summer. On August 23 an Air Force Sioux helicopter will drop them on the top of the Richmond Range, behind Round Hill, for snowcraft training.
