Junior Cup final
Rangers have the responsibility, previously shouldered successfully by Trans Tours United, of keeping the Junior National Soccer Cup in Canterbury when they meet Manurewa in the final at English Park tomorrow. Although Rangers have no players with National League experience, they have proved a most effective team by eliminating New Brighton, Papanui Suburbs, United, and Nelson United Colts. While Rangers were severely tested by the junior combinations of both National League clubs based in Christchurch, Manurewa has had a confident march through the preliminary rounds. Its closest result was its 3-1 defeat of Otahuhu United in its first match. Rangers compare well with Manurewa in high-scoring feats, having a winter record of 63 goals for and only seven against. The final should provide attractive soccer.
