Favourites win squash
As expected. Les Milne (Sumner) and Kathy Graham (Burnside) were reasonably comfortable winners of their sections in the South Island veterans squash championships yesterday. Results:—
Men’s veteran.—Division one: L. G. Milne (Sumner) beat R. G. Pattinson (Christchurch), 9-6, 4-9, 9-0. 9-1. Division two: J. Rollick (Lincoln) beat L. Reese (Christchurch), 6-9. 9-4. 9-0, 9-1.
Women’s veteran—K. F. Graham (Burnside) beat S. Young (Linwood). 10-8, 10-8. 9-4.
Men’s tenderfoot.—Division one: B. O’Bvrne (Christchurch) beat Wlllers (Y.M.C.A.), 9-6, 9-1. 9-1. Division two: B. Simpson (Richmond) beat A de Witt (Christchurch), 10-9. 5-9, 9-3, 9-3. Women’s tenderfoot.—J. Fauer (Linwood) beat M. Moore (Christchurch). 9-10. 9-4, 9-2, 9-2.
