Sunny July
There were 134 hours of sunshine in July, the highest for the month in the last four years, according to meteorological observations made at Lincoln College. July was a cool month, with 21 days of frosts. A pattern of anticyclones over Australia, bringing cold south-westerlies and then frosty weather to New Zealand, was repeated four times during the month. The maximum temperature for the month was 15.4 deg, and 53.8 mm of rain fell.
