Protection wanted
Philips Industries Holding, Ltd, and Pye Industries, Ltd, have asked the Australian government to impose quotas on imports of black and white television sets, in addition to tariff protection. Philips asked that a duty of sAustlo and 35 per cent, or $3O or 35 per cent, whichever is the higher, apply to each imported set, and that a quota, not exceeding 30 per -cent of local manufacturers’ sales apply. Pye’s request was similar.
